The development of weighing instruments
Weighing instruments are a type of electronic scale, a tool that uses Hooke's Law or the lever principle of force balance to determine the mass of an object. Taishan weighing instruments mainly consist of three parts: a load-bearing system (such as a weighing pan and body), a force transmission system (such as a lever transmission system and sensor), and an indication system (such as a scale and electronic display). Taishan weighing instruments can be divided into three major categories according to their structural principles: mechanical scales, electronic scales, and electromechanical combination scales.

Weighing instrument The sealing quality of the weighing sensor greatly affects its stability and service life. A nitrogen-filled, welded sealed weight sensor can operate stably for at least ten years, but a poorly sealed sensor will have a shorter service life under the same operating conditions. This is because water can penetrate almost all polymers, causing plasticization, stress concentration, reduced strength, damaged insulation, and electrochemical corrosion of metals, leading to instability. After absorbing moisture, strain gauges and strain adhesives will cause the adhesive layer to expand, reducing bonding strength and shear strength, lowering insulation resistance, causing zero drift, and impairing certain functions.
Weighing instrument Metrological testing can prevent weighing errors, prevent disputes caused by errors and incorrect measurement data, and also prevent weighing instruments from being affected by regional differences. The use of electronic measuring instruments requires metrological verification. Over time, repeated use of weighing sensors will cause data changes, signal changes, and aging, leading to inaccurate data during weighing. Metrological verification should be carried out according to industry standards. If the test results are unqualified, the use of weighing instruments should be prohibited to ensure the interests of enterprises and individuals and prevent disputes and errors.
